LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston High School senior Chloe Marrache has earned a perfect score on a college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Exam for students doing scientific research, she recently found out.

The name of Chloe's AP Research paper was: “Examining Shared Characteristics of Noncompliant Companies in a Cap-and-Trade System.”

She was one of only 357 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Research Exam, her school said, amounting to just 1.26 percent of 2023 AP Research Exam takers.

She was honored that it was chosen to be published by the Journal of High School Science (Vol.7, Issue 3, 2023).

"We are extremely proud of Chloe on this amazing accomplishment," said the school in a statement, "to be one of only 357 students in the world to earn a perfect score in AP Research! This achievement is a reflection of two years of hard work and dedication to the AP Capstone program."

The school also gave credit to Mrs. Kaspriskie, her AP Research teacher.

“AP courses and exams are college-level, requiring great focus and persistence among participating students,” said Trevor Packer, head of the Advanced Placement Program. “We applaud the educators who encourage students to challenge themselves, who motivate and encourage diverse students to achieve their academic potential.”

Colleges and universities around the world receive AP scores. They help students by giving them college credit, advanced placement, and/or extra consideration in the admission process.
