Local Justice: Decisions in Municipal Court

The Livingston municipal court handled two criminal cases: a shoplifter and a howling dog.

In State v. Zachary Fairbanks of Clifton Park, New York, the state charged him with shoplifting watches worth $59.98 from Sears. He pleaded guilty to the charge. The court sentenced him to 10 days of community service, and imposed a $400 fine, $33 in court costs, a $50 VCCO penalty and a $75 safe neighborhood fee.

In State v. Louis Cova of 50 Mt. Pleasant Ave. in Livingston, the state charged him with violating the noise ordinance because his beagle was barking/howling at all hours. He pleaded guilty to the offense charged.  The court imposed a $150 fine and $33 in court costs.
