Netflix Filming Movie At Livingston Restaurant, Deli Temporarily Closes

The family-owned deli will be temporarily closed as it "transforms into the set of a Netflix movie."

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A Netflix movie is shooting footage at a deli in Livingston, which is reportedly connected to a project involving Adam Sandler.

Nana’s Deli on South Livingston Avenue recently announced that it will be closed until July 9 as it “transforms into the set of a Netflix movie.”

The family-owned deli, which also has a location in Jersey City, is still available for catering while it takes its Hollywood break.

The restaurant didn’t specify what production was taking place in its social media post. However, a recent article in New Jersey Monthly reported that Sandler has been filming at Nana’s Deli – with locals saying that the movie star has been friendly to fans, interacting with them and taking selfies on set.

Additional filming has been taking place at Ilpoom, a nearby Korean restaurant, New Jersey Monthly reported.

According to a casting call from SAG-AFTRA, actors were being sought to play college students for a Netflix feature film, tentatively scheduled to film various shoot dates in New Jersey from June 24 to Aug. 12.

Sandler shot footage for “Happy Gilmore 2” in Essex County last year, gaining a reputation for inspiring some smiles from local residents along the way.
