Car Stolen From Livingston Home, Recovered In Bloomfield: Police (patch.com) — Livingston police are investigating a home burglary on Virginia Avenue where thieves entered through an unlocked window, grabbed keys inside, and stole a 2025 BMW X5. The vehicle was later found in Bloomfield and brought back to Livingston police headquarters for processing as the investigation continues.

Macy's Store Closing 'Soon' At Ailing Mall In Livingston, Reports Say (patch.com) — Macy’s is preparing to close its store at Livingston Mall, deepening concerns about the struggling shopping center that once generated over $5 million a year in local tax revenue. As anchor stores vanish and vacancies grow, Livingston officials are asking residents to help shape a long-term redevelopment vision that may include new housing and other uses for the site.
   

3. Livingston Metal Recycling Will Restart In January 2026 (patch.com) — Livingston residents can once again schedule free curbside metal pickups as the township’s annual Metal Recycling Program restarts on Friday, January 23, 2026. Registration for the first pickup opens January 20, with ongoing Friday collections through October, giving locals an easy way to recycle metal items by signing up online and placing them at the curb the night before.
   

4. Former Hostage Eli Sharabi Joins Torah Writing in NJ (collive.com) — A recently released Gaza hostage, Eli Sharabi, visited Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston to help begin writing a new Torah dedicated to October 7 victims and defenders of Israel. Hundreds of local students, parents, and staff each wrote letters, and organizers plan to invite the wider community to join the ongoing Torah-writing campaign.
   

5. No. 11 Livingston defeats Middletown North - Boys ice hockey recap (nj.com subscription) — Livingston High School’s boys ice hockey team, ranked No. 11 statewide, extended its winning streak to nine games with a 4-2 victory over Middletown North at Codey Arena in West Orange. Strong performances from Jayden Rogers, Rhys Bernstein, and the Lancers’ goaltenders highlighted another impressive outing for this surging Livingston squad.
