LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Historical Society recently dedicated a Patriot Burial Marker at the Historic Ely Cemetery on Hillside Avenue.

According to the society, the marker honors Private Moses Ely’s service in the New Jersey Militia during the Revolutionary War. It was funded by a grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation to the New Jersey Sons of the American Revolution.

Deputy Township Manager Russell Jones Jr. and township council members Michael Vieira and Ketan Bhuptani were on hand with Livingston Historical Society Trustee Jim McGovern and other members of the group to unveil the new sign on Nov. 11.
