PSEG Will Be Trimming Trees In Livingston: Here's Where (And Why)

Workers will be removing "incompatible" trees within the PSE&G rights-of-way. See a list of impacted areas here.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — PSE&G will be performing vegetation maintenance for their electric transmission lines that run through Livingston starting in January.

According to a municipal advisory, the work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Jan. 1. It will continue throughout 2026.

Workers will be removing “incompatible” trees within the PSE&G rights-of-way, and trimming branches originating from trees outside the rights-of-way that hang over or cross onto the rights-of-way.

Maintaining vegetation surrounding power lines will help to prevent or mitigate any future outages, township officials said.

Prior to the start of work, impacted property owners will notified via certified mail and also in person, if necessary, the township said.
