Thanksgiving In Livingston: Closures, Garbage Schedule, Turkey Donation Drive
Livingston township offices will be closed on Nov. 27 and Nov. 28 for the holiday. Here are some other things to know this year.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston Town Hall and all township offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. All offices will reopen during regular business hours on Monday, Dec. 1.
Here are two other things to know for the holiday, according to a township advisory:
Garbage – Garbage will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 27 for Monday/Thursday streets. Garbage will be picked up on residents’ next regularly scheduled day, which is Monday, Dec. 1. There is no change to regular Friday garbage pickup on Nov. 28 for streets with Tuesday/Friday collection.

Recycling – There will be no regular commingled recycling pickup on Thursday, Nov. 27, and pickup will move one day later for the rest of the week. The schedule includes:
- Monday, Zone 1, November 24: Regular pickup
- Tuesday, Zone 2, November 25: Regular pickup
- Wednesday, Zone 3, November 26: Regular pickup
- Thursday, Zone 4, November 27: No pickup; recycling will instead be picked up on Friday, November 28
- Friday, Zone 5, November 28: Pickup moves to Saturday, November 29
TURKEY DONATIONS

A turkey donation is being organized to benefit families in need for the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday.
Livingston residents who have a fresh or frozen turkey to donate can drop them off near the back entrance of Town Hall at 357 South Livingston Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22.
Volunteers from Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors and UNICO will be on site to collect the turkeys, which will be provided to families in need.
