With the NFL season fast approaching, fans everywhere are sourcing their game day plan for parking and commuting to the stadiums. Luckily for Giants and Jets fans, who share MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands, the stadium and surrounding areas offer plenty of parking options as well as a quick and accessible shuttle rail that provides direct pick up and drop off at MetLife.
We’ve gathered our favorite recommendations for fans gearing up for game day at MetLife, and how to arrive at the stadium as easily and quickly as possible.
While MetLife does offer a pre-paid parking permit, fans can find a more affordable and accessible option by parking nearby at one of the Edison ParkFast parking lots, located at the Frank R. Lautenberg Station at Secaucus Junction. Open and patrolled 24 hours a day, the Edison ParkFast locations here offer game day parking for $20-$30 per game. Edison ParkFast Secaucus is also offering $100 off of a monthly membership, which can be used towards parking for NFL games.
After parking at the Edison ParkFast, fans can walk to grab the rail service right on-site at Secaucus Junction. The rail service drops commuters and fans off directly at MetLife Stadium in only 10 minutes. On game days, the rail service commences about three and a half hours before kick-off, and ends one hour after the game concludes. The round-trip fare from Secaucus to the sports complex is $11. Fans are able to pre-purchase tickets at Ticket Windows, Ticket Vending Machines or through the free NJ TRANSIT Mobile App.
The shuttle train isn’t just an easy and quick option, it is also an integral part of the game day narrative, heightening the excitement to stadium-shaking levels as anticipation builds before arriving at the stadium. And of course, one of the most coveted and important parts of game day is the tailgating experience so loved by fans all around. With rail service beginning early, fans can use the quick commute and direct drop off at the stadium to their advantage to enjoy tailgating festivities within the MetLife parking lot.
After the game ends, the shuttle rail picks fans up directly where they were dropped off. Once arriving at the Edison ParkFast, fans find the traffic to be more manageable and quicker than parking directly at the stadium.
As you gear up for the upcoming NFL season, remember that the adventure to MetLife Stadium is a game in itself. Embrace the convenience of the shuttle train and nearby parking, the thrill of tailgating, and the atmosphere with fellow fans.
