The town-wide "CommuniTree" project challenges residents to create something beautiful by re-using materials that would be thrown away.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Environmental Commission (LEC) is inviting community members to “reimagine the value of waste” by creating a work of art.
According to the group, the town-wide “CommuniTree” project will challenge residents to create something beautiful by re-using materials that would otherwise be thrown away.

“The CommuniTree project is an art installation of a tree with upcycled leaves that showcase ideas, passions, and concerns about the environment. The leaves can be any recycled material such as paper, fabric, cardstock, plastic, straws, or actual leaves. Leaves can include text, drawings, paint, knit, crochet, or a collage. Residents are encouraged to have fun, be creative, and share their passion for the environment.”
Completed leaves should be dropped off in the labeled box by the front desk at the Livingston Public Library by Friday, April 18. Participants do not need to include their name on the leaf, but are welcome to do so if they wish to have their leaf returned to them.
