Young STEM Enthusiasts Dive into Innovation at 15th Annual FLL Explore Expo in Livingston
Twelve teams proudly showcased their innovation and creativity after months of hard work
Despite a rainy Saturday on June 14, the energy was vibrant at the 15th Annual FIRSTⓇ LEGOⓇ League (FLL) Explore Expo, hosted by Livingston Robotics Club (LRC). Twelve local FLL Explore teams came together to celebrate the culmination of their season, proudly showcasing months of creativity, collaboration, and STEM discovery centered around this year’s ocean-themed challenge, SUBMERGED.
FLL Explore, the entry-level division of FIRST LEGO League, is designed for children ages 6 to 10. The program introduces young learners to the fundamentals of science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning and imaginative exploration. Each season features a new theme rooted in real-world issues—this year, SUBMERGED invited students to investigate the mysteries of ocean ecosystems and propose solutions for preserving ocean health.
Throughout the Expo, young innovators presented their LEGO models and basic robotics projects to Reviewers. Their creations reflected not only their growing technical and design skills but also their understanding of ocean science, environmental sustainability, and teamwork. Every team received a well-earned award celebrating their unique contributions, whether in creative design, problem-solving, or collaboration.
