The Best Ways to Learn About Senior Living
Wayne and Pam Steadman appreciate having so many dining options at Seabrook. They especially enjoy visiting The Essex Pub on campus.

When it comes to researching a retirement community, there's nothing quite like seeing it for yourself. That's why Seabrook, an Erickson Senior Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J., offers countless ways to do just that!
From personal appointments to informational events and group tours, Seabrook invites prospective residents to explore the community at their own pace--with no added pressure.
"We really focus on providing an abundance of information and building relationships," says Sales Director Brian Cassidy. "We want prospective residents to feel comfortable asking questions and have all the insight they need to ensure Seabrook is the right community for them."

"Dennise and Lauren have met with hundreds of prospective residents," Cassidy explains. "They're very knowledgeable on a range of topics, including the community's pricing structure, floor plans, amenities, and more. Bring all your questions!"
He adds, "Ultimately, we want to learn more about you and your goals for retirement so we can show you how Seabrook could benefit you."
Based on your goals and needs, Dennise or Lauren will give a personalized tour of a community
clubhouse, the beautifully landscaped grounds, and some homes that they think will be a good fit.
Seabrook's informational events are another great way to explore the community. They often include a group campus tour, presentations from community professionals, and an opportunity to ask questions.
"But there's no pressure to sign up for anything," says Cassidy. "Seabrook is a beautiful place, so we love to show it off."
A closer look
Friends Bonnie Kamhi and Maureen Ostacher met at an informational event last year at Seabrook.
"People from my development moved to Seabrook, and I only heard good things," says Bonnie, who was living at Rolling Meadows in Ocean Township, N.J., at the time. "I thought I would check it out."
It was Maureen's second event at Seabrook, as she was considering leaving her house at a 55-plus community in Freehold, N.J.
During the event, they dined in one of the community's five on-site restaurants with current residents and toured a clubhouse, the fitness center, aquatics center, theater, library, and creative arts studio. They also visited a variety of homes with different floor plans.
"I enjoyed meeting the different people here and experiencing the wonderful diversity at Seabrook," Maureen says. "It gave me a great feel for the place."
While attendees gathered a lot of details about the community, its lifestyle, and the amenities, they also appreciated the opportunity to meet fellow prospective residents who would ultimately become their neighbors and friends.
That's exactly what happened with Bonnie and Maureen. The pair realized they had much in common, so they scheduled lunches together to discuss their downsizing needs and the possible move to Seabrook.
Priority List perks
Soon after the event, both Maureen and Bonnie joined the Priority List, which secured their place in line for their preferred floor plans and gave them access to exclusive social and educational events.
Members can also take advantage of the Live the Life program, which allows guests to stay overnight in a furnished suite, utilize amenities, join club meetings, dine at on-campus restaurants, and chat with current residents who share similar interests.
Both Maureen and Bonnie enjoyed their experiences.
"It gave me a real sense of life in the community," says Bonnie. "I went to an exercise class, a watercolor painting class, and toured what would be my home. While I was a few years from deciding, I said, 'Sign me up!' I didn't want to miss out on such a fabulous home in a great location."
During Maureen's Live the Life stay, she attended a Friday Shabbat service, karaoke night, and a "progressive thinkers" meeting. And while she, too, did not plan to move so soon, she couldn't resist the opportunity.
Home sweet home
Since moving to Seabrook in January, Bonnie has played regular mah-jongg and rummikub games, and is trying her hand at staining glass--for the first time in 50 years. Maureen, who moved in April, can often be found at the fitness center and in various study groups.
Looking back on their journeys to Seabrook, both women agree that spending time researching the community enabled them to feel confident in their decision. Now, they're enjoying busy, fun-filled lives--but still make time to meet for dinner!
