Breastfeeding Support Center Now Open In Eatontown

EATONTOWN, NJ — A brand-new Breastfeeding Center is now open at the Anne Vogel Wellness Center next to Monmouth Mall in Eatontown.

The center offers private one-on-one lactation consultations, breastfeeding support groups and education programs.

The Anne Vogel Wellness Center opened in July, and it is located at 200 Wyckoff Road in Eatontown, next to the Boscov’s at Monmouth Mall. It is run by Monmouth Medical Center.

They will have a trained nurse (RN) on staff, plus board-certified lactation consultants to help mothers overcome breastfeeding challenges. Additionally, the center offers private prenatal appointments (before the baby is born) and information on how to order a breast pump through insurance. Through one-on-one visits and group breastfeeding information sessions, here are issues they can help new moms with:

• Positioning or latching infant
• Weighted feeds to determine transfer of milk
• Feeding strategies to support successful lactation
• Establishing a good milk supply
• Managing nipple pain
• Oral assessment to identify possible tongue tie is provided as well.

They will also address infants with poor or slow weight gain, making too little or too much milk, breastfeeding premature and/or multiple infants, learning to pump, transition to work, treatment plan for engorgement, plugged ducts, thrush or mastitis and re-establishing milk supply.

The center also offers weekly free in-person and virtual support groups. All topics and issues related to breastfeeding are included in the group discussions.

The 2022 opening of the Anne Vogel Center was a move by Monmouth Medical Center to reach customers in suburban Eatontown, as parent company RWJBarnabas puts family health services directly where consumers live, shop and take their children to school.

That's why the Anne Vogel Center has extensive gynecology offices, children's health and pediatric offices, a test kitchen featuring Jon Bon Jovi Nutrition Education Programs and now, a breastfeeding center. An offshoot of Children’s Specialized Hospital occupies the second floor.
