Capt. Jason Roebuck Named New Long Branch Public Safety Director

Long Branch Police Capt. has been promoted as the new director of public safety for the city.

Roebuck, who has served as captain since last March, replaces Capt. Alphonse Muolo. Muolo has been the director of public safety since 2010 and will remain with the police department and serve as captain.

Roebuck was promoted earlier this week during a Long Branch Council meeting.

He will oversee the Long Branch Police Department and the Long Branch Fire Department and first aid squad.

The city does not employ a chief of police, so public safety director is considered the highest possible position in the department.
