Eatontown Jewelry Store Robbed At Gunpoint

Police searching for two black male suspects

Eatontown Police are searching for two black males who allegedly robbed Aaron's Gold Store at gunpoint on Monday afternoon.

According to Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler, at approximately 12:29 p.m. on June 18 two black males entered the Aaron’s Gold Store at 76 Highway 35 in Eatontown, and attempted to sell a ring to the clerk.

"The two subjects stayed in the store for approximately ten minutes, looking at the displays and discussing the amount being offered for the ring, before one of the males pulled a silver handgun out of a drawstring bag he was carrying and threatened the clerk," Det. Tyler said in a release.

Det. Tyler said the second male jumped over the counter and escorted the clerk to the backroom of the store where he tied the clerk's hands and feet and placed tape over their mouth.

The two subjects robbed the store of cash and jewelry and were last seen heading toward Clinton Avenue. The exact amount stolen was not specified.

Both subjects were described as black males in their late 30‘s with dark skin and medium height and weight.

The first was wearing dark jeans and a dark polo type shirt with a black baseball cap and sunglasses.  This subject was the one carrying the drawstring bag and was also the one who displayed the handgun.

The second subject was wearing a green long sleeve button down shirt and jeans, with a blue baseball cap with red or orange lettering.

The store's security camera captured several pictures of the robbers and they can be seen by scrolling through the photos in this article.
