Why are you running?
I am running because I feel that my interaction with the community has given me an insight into the values and priorities that people would like to see reflected in our school system.
What is your platform?
As a board member, my goal is to ensure that children with special needs get the same quality education as other children. I believe that special education is a service, not a place, not defined by where you learn but by the type of services you receive. We must remember that it is the school’s responsibility and should be a priority to help these children gain their full potential, and I would be honored to advocate for them and their families.
Do you have previous experience in the world of politics and government?
I realize that politics are part of our everyday life. I believe it is important to listen to every side of every argument with an open mind. By having mutual respect for each other, we can come together and reach the best solution for our children and community.
What are the most important issues facing your constituency, and how do you plan to deal with it?
The most important issue with the matter is funding. In order to ensure that these children receive the appropriate education, therapies, and services as well as support needed for their families, we must have the proper funding. I am currently in the process of familiarizing myself with the sources of funding available for special needs education at the local, state, and federal level.
Why should voters vote for you?
I feel like I have a lot to offer to this district. I am enthusiastic and will be diligent and hard-working to achieve the goals I have set for myself, the children, and the community.
