Long Branch Chamber Planning Fourth Annual Block Party

Event will include dog parade and children's activities

 

Families, friends and dogs will descend upon West End in Long Branch on Sept. 29 for the Fourth Annual Long Branch Block Party and Pooch Parade.

The event, which is sponsored by the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce, the city, Monmouth Medical Center & 95.9 FM the WRAT, will be held on Brighton Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

One of the highlights of the day will be the Pooch Parade where visitors can bring their dogs and parade them down Brighton Avenue in costume.

Children will have an opportunity to climb aboard and touch several city fire trucks and other vehicles.

There will also be scarecrow building, pumpkin painting and crafts for children.

Food vendors will also set up shop along Brighton Avenue, adjacent to West End Park, and all the local restaurants will be open for lunch.

Businesses that would like to be a part of the event can call the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce at 732-222-0400. Those who would like their dogs to participate in the parade should also contact the chamber or visit the office at 228 Broadway to receive an application.
