Long Branch Man Arrested After Cop Sees Him Knock Woman Out

A Long Branch resident was arrested after an officer witnessed him punch a woman in the face on August 8.

Eric Williams, 47, of Long Branch was arrested in Long Branch on August 8 after an officer witnessed him knock a woman unconscious after a punch to her face.

Lt. Frank Morey observed the assault in progress, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records. He then arrested Williams after determining that the defendant was a ”danger to the victim”, who was observed to have bumps, bruises, and was complaining of jaw pain from the punch.

Williams was brought to Monmouth County Correctional Institute with bail set at $15,000 and a first court appearance scheduled for August 13.
