Long Branch Zoning Board To Hear Synagogue Application Tonight
Synagogue would replace old movie theater on Ocean Avenue

A group will come before The Long Branch Zoning Board Monday night with an application that would replace the old movie theater on Ocean Avenue with a synagogue and Jewish community center.
The theater, which is located near Lou's Uniforms and Ocean Cafe, was once one of the only of its kind in the area, and closed over 20 years ago.

The entire blacktop area behind the theater and the neighboring buildings are considered part of the property and are part of the site plan. The blacktop area is currently used as a free parking area by residents who visit West End.
Patch wrote a story asking viewers the site and what they thought about the application last month, and the response from the community was overwhelming.
