Massive Fire Rips Through West Long Branch Home

A large fire destroyed a multi-story home on Hollywood Avenue on Friday night.

The 2-alarm fire was reported shortly after 9 p.m. and as of 10 p.m., heavy smoke and fire could still be seen coming from the home at 11 Hollywood Ave. The house was reportedly being renovated.

The fire was extinguished around midnight, but it reportedly rekindled early Saturday morning.

Police closed off Hollywood Avenue from Brookwillow Avenue to Norwood Avenue as firefighters attempted to extinguish the blaze.

Mutual aid fire companies from Long Branch and Ocean Township assisted the West Long Branch Fire Department at the scene.

No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
