'Military Activities' At Fort Monmouth No Cause For Alarm: Police

Crews for a "private entity" will be filming, police said

EATONTOWN, NJ - If you see what appears to be military activity on the Fort Monmouth property today and over the weekend, it's nothing to worry about, Eatontown police said.

"These activities will include persons dressed in tactical gear carrying realistic style firearms," a post on the police department's Facebook page states. "There will be film crews present recording the activities."

A "private entity" is conducting the activity from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, and from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, police said.

"Law enforcement officers from neighboring towns will be present for security," the post states. "We are informing residents to assure them that we are aware of the event and that there is no cause for alarm should they happen through that area and observe these activities."
