Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Identifies Long Branch Homicide Victim
Investigation into the murder of Hector Mejia in Long Branch is still ongoing.

LONG BRANCH, NJ - The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office has identified the murder victim found lying on the porch at 111-2 Liberty Street in Long Branch.
Long Branch police received a 911 call from a woman who reported the man lying on the porch. When police arrived, they found Hector Mejia unresponsive. When paramedics responded, they pronounced Mejia deceased at 11:56 p.m., Charles Webster, spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office said.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted jointly by the Prosecutor's Office and Long Branch police.
