Do you have a REAL ID? Only 17 percent of people in New Jersey complied with the May 7 federal deadline to get REAL ID, according to the TSA. (That may be because a large percentage of New Jersey residents, 79 percent, have a valid U.S. passport, which will be accepted to fly instead of a REAL ID.)

But that's why just this week the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission added an additional 5,200 new appointments across the state for “REAL ID Tuesdays."

They opened up the 5,200 extra appointments on May 5. Go to NJMVC’s appointment scheduler.
