Three Neptune Township police officers read to the kids; one of the police lieutenants is a published author.
NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Here are photos from the Black History Month reading event held at the Neptune Twp. McDonald’s (Rts. 33, 35) on Feb. 17.
This was a public reading event for kids to hear books read by local African-American authors, teachers, principals and more.
The McDonald's, owned by The Gillis Organization, also gave away tote bags, books and Happy Meals cards.

- Neptune Twp. Police Lieutenant and published author Gregory T. Washington. Washington wrote this children's book, "Made to Win"
- Police Officer Robert Layton (Neptune Township Police Department)

- McDonald's store manager Najee Foster
- Continental member and retired teacher Angeline
