At Seabrook, Predictable Costs Provide Freedom, Value, and Peace of Mind
Monthly service package covers all maintenance, heating, air conditioning and utilities, chef-prepared meals in the 5 on-site restaurants.

When Marge and Jim Gryta first heard about Seabrook, an Erickson Senior Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J., they did their share of research to learn all they could. They were pleased to discover that their move would be a healthy financial decision--especially when compared to the increasing costs and unforeseen expenses associated with their former house.
"With most people on a fixed retirement income, predictability is key," notes Jim, an accountant who works as a part-time controller. "With prices rising, we don't have to worry. We don't have to gamble with the stock market or wonder where additional money is coming from. It is a set amount that gives us so much."
Like all Seabrook residents, Jim and Marge are no longer concerned with everyday economic fluctuations. Instead, they are managing their budget with confidence and making the most of their retirement.

A great value
Jim was especially impressed with the monthly service package, which covers all maintenance, heating, air conditioning and utilities, chef-prepared meals in the five on-site restaurants, access to a variety of amenities, shuttle service, and much more.

"Many residents find that their expenses before they moved were much higher than the monthly service package," notes Neal Fiore, Seabrook's finance director. "Plus, the best aspect is predictability; you know what you're going to pay every month."
Another huge savings for residents is Seabrook's maintenance-free lifestyle. Gone are the days of shoveling snow, mowing lawns, and paying homeowners association fees for community repairs and upkeep. Residents no longer wait weeks for repairmen, who may be unreliable or overcharge for their work.
"If you need a light bulb changed or if your dishwasher breaks, Seabrook will repair or replace it," Jim adds. "Each time we've called General Services, they responded quickly and we didn't receive a bill."
As part of the monthly service package, residents also enjoy access to a variety of amenities including pickleball, bocce, miniature golf, walking trails, select fitness classes, and indoor and outdoor theater spaces.
The Grytas take full advantage of many Seabrook offerings. Jim can be found most early mornings in the fitness center exercising with a group of friends, under the guidance of one of the staff trainers.
Marge spends time in the gym and takes aquatics classes in the pool. She also enjoys weekly canasta and bingo games, two of the more than 100 groups on campus, and enjoys a variety of adult lectures.
Peace of mind
The Grytas also value the financial benefits of Seabrook's industry-leading 90% refundable entrance fee*, which covers the cost of a resident's home and is based on the residence's individual features.
In addition, the couple appreciates the peace of mind thanks to the Home for Life promise.* No one ever expects to run out of money, but sometimes unforeseen issues arise that can quickly deplete your hard-earned savings and put you at risk. Seabrook is prepared to assist eligible residents who outlive their resources. No one will be asked to leave our community because of a genuine inability to pay.
Health care right here
The on-site medical center meets the couple's daily health care needs and Marge likes knowing the medical staff is just steps away.
"It gives us a peace of mind knowing they are right here," Marge says. "It's so much easier, like so many other things here at Seabrook. They really care for us."
Jim and Marge also appreciate the community's multiple levels of care. As a continuing care retirement community, Seabrook offers a vibrant independent lifestyle while also providing assisted living, skilled nursing care, and memory care all on the same campus.
"It's great to know that if something happens, you remain at Seabrook for rehabilitation or a higher level of care," says Jim. "It's all right here."
‘Nothing better'
A year after moving from a 55-plus community in Farmingdale, N.J., the couple remain delighted about their new life at the community. Marge can't help but smile when residents and staff alike pass her in the hallways, greeting her with a friendly "hello."
"I remember hearing that Disney World is the happiest place on earth, but I beg to differ," she says. "This is the happiest place on earth. There's nothing better than life at Seabrook."
