'25-'26 State Aid Figures Released For Eatontown, Shore Regional

LITTLE SILVER, NJ — Last week, as part of Gov. Phil Murphy's budget, state aid figures were released for New Jersey school districts.
The amount of aid districts receive from Trenton is very important, as it helps districts prepare their budgets, determine which classes and extracurriculars to keep, and transportation.
The money will be used for the upcoming 2025-'26 school year.

Here are the figures for state aid for local school districts:
- Shore Regional: $987,195 this year, which is $55,879 or six percent than it got this year.
- Eatontown Boro $1,882,331 million, which is $106,547 or six percent than it got this year.
- Little Silver Boro $870,170 in state aid, which is $26,912 or 3 percent less than the district got this year.
- Middletown schools will receive $14.8 million in state aid for fiscal year 2026, a six percent or $839,000 increase from 2024. For the '24-'25 school year, Middletown received $13.9 million from the state.
- Oceanport Boro $1,023,798 in state aid, which is $57,951 more or six percent than it got this year.

To make it more equitable as to how state aid is determined, this year the state put a three percent cap on how much a district could lose, and a six percent cap on how much more aid it could get, compared to 2024.
