There Will Be A DWI Checkpoint In Monmouth County Friday Night

The checkpoint was announced Friday morning.

NEPTUNE CITY, NJ — The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will hold a DWI checkpoint Friday night in Neptune City.

This was announced Friday morning by Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider, who is Monmouth County's DWI Task Force coordinator.

The checkpoint will be held from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday on Rt. 35 in Neptune City. All southbound vehicles on Rt. 35 will be diverted into the Sunoco gas station, at Steiner Avenue, where all drivers will be screened for their sobriety.

Police departments are required by law to publicly announce beforehand where and when fixed DWI checkpoints will be, said Schneider.
