Up In Smoke is the latest addition to Broadway and brings something unique and delicious to Long Branch.

Co-owners Nick Bennett and Alex Brunner have opened a barbecue food truck near Dawn's Eyewear at 639 Broadway. For the last two weeks, they have been selling pulled pork sandwiches, jalapeno poppers and pulled pork and chicken burritos to hungry customers.

They got their start at the Blues and Brews Festival on June 8 and also set up shop at Oceanfest on July 4 in Long Branch.

Bennett says he does most of the cooking and is making things he used to cook at home.

He said he always noticed that there were not many barbecue restaurants in the area and that there were no food trucks. He said he saw the truck at a junkyard, bought it, fixed it up and started getting the necessary paperwork together to open the food truck.

Bennett and Brunner said their truck is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday-Saturday. They said they will continue to be serving food until the end of September, but are still figuring out what the future holds for their food truck.
