WEForum Fit Crawl Feb. 24 In Monmouth, Ocean Counties
Fit Crawl is a day of fitness held across multiple studios in Monmouth and Ocean counties, in partnership with Monmouth Medical Center.
LONG BRANCH, NJ — WEforum, the Women's Education Forum, will hold their annual Fit Crawl event on Saturday, February 24 this year (WEforum Fit Crawl 2024).
Fit Crawl is a day of fitness held across multiple studios throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties, hosted in partnership with Monmouth Medical Center.
With over 35 classes to choose from, Fit Crawl allows participants to sample three back-to-back fitness and wellness classes on Feb. 24. Now in its eighth year, Fit Crawl offers a diverse range of classes, including yoga, boxing, Pilates, strength training, cycling, meditation, breath classes, energy work, sound bowls and more.

The day concludes with a post-crawl event at Triumph Brewery in Red Bank, featuring local vendors offering food, juices, health and wellness services and apparel. For ticket information, visit WEforum Fit Crawl 2024.

This year, the WEforum Fit Crawl will celebrate the dedication and commitment of youth coaches in Monmouth and Ocean counties. The event will recognize top coaches and mentors in youth athletics who embody high ideals, characteristics, and traits related to personal excellence, transformation, sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle.

Heading this collaborative effort is Dorothy Whitehouse, Chair of the Rumson Recreation Commission, Committee Member of the Rumson Fair Haven Board of Education, and Trustee and Head of the Rumson Travel Basketball League.
Three co-chairs:
Randy Foye, a Villanova University graduate and former NBA player, is recognized for his pivotal role in leading the Wildcats to their first Big East regular season title. Additionally, as the President of Friends of Nova and Coach of Epic Elite AAU Basketball, he is dedicated to mentoring student-athletes and enhancing the lives of children in Newark.
Val Barnaby, a former Division I and professional football player, certified trainer, and founder of ESSA Sports Training, is driven by a passion for helping athletes surpass their potential. With personalized programs and a commitment to fostering an environment dedicated to success and personal growth, Val brings a dynamic element to the Fit Crawl.
Rob Gill, the CEO of Epic Financial Strategies and a dedicated advocate for high school basketball development, has made significant strides with the EPIC ELITE 16 & 17U AAU team. Rob envisions revolutionizing the development of AAU basketball teams, providing unique opportunities for young high school students to play at a high level through strategic coaching, innovative marketing, and distinctive player benefits.
Monmouth Medical Center welcomes the following elite and distinguished youth athletic coaches to the WEforum Fit Crawl 2024 Elite Hall of Fame:
George Sourlis, a legendary Shore Conference basketball coach, earned iconic status by transforming the Rumson-Fair Haven girls basketball program into a powerhouse. Retiring in 2016 after 30 years, he left a legacy of 653 wins, 199 losses, 14 NJSIAA sectional titles, five NJSIAA overall group titles, and five Tournament of Champions appearances. In an exciting development, Sourlis returned to coach the Red Bank Regional boys basketball program, bringing his wealth of experience to the sidelines.
Steve Carcaterra, a Division 1 lacrosse player from Towson University, relocated to Monmouth County in 1995, becoming a key figure in local lacrosse. As the founder of United Lacrosse in 2009, he played a crucial role in elevating Monmouth County's lacrosse prominence in NJ. In 2021, United Lacrosse merged with Building Blocks Lacrosse, a state power club. Beyond coaching, Steve has guided over 300 players to pursue collegiate and pro-level lacrosse careers through various programs and initiatives.
Ronanne DeRosa, a distinguished gymnast from Barnstormers since the early 80s under coaches Tom Murphy and Steve Stein, earned a full gymnastic scholarship to the University of Maryland. As the former head varsity coach at Red Bank Catholic High School from 2011-2019, she secured accolades such as the 2014 NJ State Coach of the Year and the 2015 Jersey Sporting News Female Coach Of The Year. During her seven-year tenure, RBC achieved remarkable success with 3 State Championships, 5 Shore Conference, and 5 Sectional Championships. Beyond coaching, Ronanne passionately upholds the Barnstormers tradition, shaping strong, independent, and confident young athletes.
