West Long Branch Postpones 2025 Fireworks To Aug. 30

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ — West Long Branch postponed its 2025 fireworks show to Aug. 30 — but it's not because of Tuesday night's impending heavy rain.

It's because a member of the West Long Branch fireworks team died unexpectedly, the town of West Long Branch announced here on its municipal website.

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the postponement of our annual 4th of July fireworks celebration. The postponement is due to the untimely death of a critical member of the fireworks team," wrote the town. "The new date is scheduled for Aug. 30 with a rain date of Aug 31. More details to follow. We appreciate your support and understanding."
