Woman Hit, Killed By Car On Rt. 35 In Ocean Township

The driver that hit her remained on the scene, and no charges or summonses have been filed.

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A woman was hit by a car and killed Tuesday evening in Ocean Township, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago.

She was hit by the car at 5:36 p.m. at Rt. 35 and Sunset Avenue. Police say she was trying to cross Sunset Avenue in an eastbound direction at Rt. 35 when she was hit by a 2024 Infiniti SUV headed north.

The woman, identified as Amatullah Morejon, 26, was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased at 6:31 p.m.

The driver of the Infiniti SUV, a man, remained on the scene. No charges or summons have been filed at this time.
