Expertise in Healthcare, Counseling, Community Strengthen the Y's Commitment to Expand Impact in Monmouth, Middlesex & Ocean Counties

The YMCA of the Jersey Shore is strengthening its volunteer leadership team with the appointment of three new board members, including a Long Branch resident, to help advance its strategic priorities across Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties.
With extensive experience in mental health, community outreach, and supporting people from all walks of life, the new board members will help expand the Y’s reach across the Jersey Shore region, deepening its impact on the lives of the people it serves.
“As Jersey Shore residents, all three new board members are a direct reflection of our new name, the YMCA of the Jersey Shore,” said Y President and Chief Executive Officer Laurie Goganzer. “Their specialized expertise and insight in health and well-being for all put us in an even stronger position to serve people of all ages, incomes and backgrounds across the Jersey Shore.”

The 55-member volunteer board plays a vital role in the Y’s ability to carry out its mission of supporting youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The board provides strategic advice, establishes policies and helps generate financial support, ensuring everyone has access to the mental health, chronic disease prevention, child care and other life-changing services the Y provides.
Chief Volunteer Officer Michael A. Wright, who leads the board of directors, expressed his support for the newly appointed board members. “For more than 150 years, the Y has remained focused on its core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility,” said Wright. “All three new board members have exemplified their commitment to these same values and bring unique perspectives to the table. I’m looking forward to working as a team to ensure we can have an even bigger and broader impact throughout Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties.”
