165 Bags Of Heroin Found In Long Valley Traffic Stop: Police

Police say the man tried to swallow a piece of drug paraphernalia during the stop.

LONG VALLEY, NJ β€” A man was arrested after being found with 165 bags of heroin and swallowing a piece of paraphernalia during a traffic stop, Washington Township police said.

Jason Heinowitz, 30, from Tinton Falls, was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence following the Nov. 24 traffic stop. Police say Heinowitz was pulled over on Rt. 46 for a motor vehicle violation and had marijuana in plain view.

A search of the car turned up 165 bags of heroin, police said, and Heinowitz allegedly tried to swallow a piece of paraphernalia during the search. Heinowitz was arrested and taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility with an upcoming court date.
