Kick off fall with these fun celebrations featuring local bands, food, beer and more.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — We may be a long way away from Germany, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate Oktoberfest.

Get ready to celebrate the start of fall with family and friends, as two Long Valley destinations have their own Oktoberfest events coming up this October.

Ort Farms, located at 25 Bartley Road in Long Valley, will kick off the Oktoberfest celebrations.

On Sept. 16 and 17, Czig Meister Brewing Company will be on-site for their annual Oktoberfest event. In addition to the farm's regular fall weekend festivities, enjoy traditional Oktoberfest music and food. There will be a unique beer garden in the central tent area, where food, children, and four-legged friends are all welcome.

Czig Meister will be offering beers and seltzers in this location from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Chilton Mill Brewing at 59 East Mill Road will be the site of another Oktoberfest celebration, which is running on Saturday, Oct. 7, and Sunday, Oct. 8. There will be live music on both days, a stein-hoisting competition and delicious German-style beers for all attendees to enjoy.

On Oct. 7, the festivities will commence at 3 and end at 10 p.m., and on Oct. 8, the festival will run from 12 to 6 p.m. Click here for Chilton Mill’s event page, which says this annual Oktoberfest is a rain or shine event.

"More details to follow, but for now, save the date. You won’t want to miss this event," the brewery said.
