4 Inches Of Rain Predicted For Long Valley From Ida's Effects
Washington Township's Mayor urges residents to follow the township's social media and Rave updates as Hurricane Ida's remnants pass through.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Long Valley is under a Flash Flood Watch through Thursday, with Ida's remnants moving through the area.
As Ida churns through Long Valley, there could be heavy rains, thunderstorms and rainfall of four inches or more as potential impacts from the storm, before sunny skies are predicted to return on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Streams, creeks and poor drainage areas as well as "moderate to major flooding is possible along some main stem rivers and roads," the National Weather Service forecasts.

Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello posted a message for his social media followers with a WeatherWorks forecast generated Monday for the township, that showed the potential of flooding was “high” because of Wednesday’s storm.
Murello suggested that residents who would like updated information about the impact of the storm, to stay tuned to the township’s social media accounts and Rave system, if messages need to be posted.

Washington Township Police Department reminded residents and drivers to stay away from downed electrical wires during the storm, which could still be live.
