5 Ordinances Introduced At March Washington Twp Committee Meeting
The ordinances will be up for a public hearing and final vote at the April regular meeting.
WASHINGTON, NJ β Five new ordinances were introduced at the March committee meeting in Washington Township, and they'll be up for a vote in April.
The ordinances are mostly technical, and adjust existing ordinances. A public hearing and comment, and a final vote will be held on all five at the April committee meeting. You can read summaries of the ordinances here (click on the link to read the full text):
ORDINANCE NO. RO-05-19: This ordinance establishes a handicap parking placard ordinance. Anyone who does not have a handicap placard and parks in a handicap spot would be subject to a $250 ticket.

ORDINANCE NO. RO-06-19: The duties of the administrator and chief financial officer are clarified in this ordinance. It also clarifies the chain of command for making purchases, and the system for signing off on checks.
ORDINANCE NO. RO-07-19: Fees for fire inspections for various businesses are established in this ordinance. Permitting and fees for smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms are also clarified.

ORDINANCE NO. RO-08-19: Clarifies references in the code to the two different positions of Township Engineer and Planning Board/Board of Adjustment Engineer.
ORDINANCE RO-09-19: This Ordinance fixes the salaries for four township positions: part-time assistance tax assessor, construction/building sub code inspector, electrical sub code official, and fire official.
