A new study from SafeWise found that six Morris Co. towns were among the 50 safest in the state.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Six Morris County towns are among the safest towns in the whole state, according to a new study from SafeWise.
East Hanover was the highest ranking Morris County town at #21. Other county towns in the top 50 were Denville (#22), Madison (#23), Randolph, (#24), Pequannock (#25), and Chatham Township (#44).
All of the towns had very low crime rates for both violent and property crime, the study found. Of the crime that they did have, the majority of it was property crime (you can see the full crime breakdowns here).

Most of the safest cities identified by the company were in North Jersey. Sixty-two percent were in the northern part of the state. Thirty percent were in central, and the remaining eight percent were in southern. The company did not say how it divided up the state.
The two safest towns in the state were River Vale and Bernards Township. Neither town saw a violent crime in all of 2017. Overall, the safest towns tended to be, well, safe: they had violent crime rates 92 percent below the national average, and property crime rates 74 percent below the national average.
