7 Long Valley Roads May Be Paved In 2016

Twp. Committee eyeing $655K to complete resurfacing of various road sections.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – The winter of 2015-16 wasn’t nearly as bad as years past, with some freezing temperatures and just one major storm, but that doesn’t mean Long Valley’s roads aren’t in need of repairs.

The Washington Township Committee is eyeing more than $600,000 in road repairs this year, naming several roads in town that will get a full milling and paving.

The governing body is looking to spend a total of $655,000 this year, $620,000 of which would be done through bonds, for work on the following road sections:

  • Naughright Road from Flocktown Road to Fawnridge Drive
  • Naughright Road from Janet Drive to Flocktown Road
  • West Valley Brook Road from Samantha Lane to Turtleback Road
  • Black River Road for approximately 1,400 feet
  • Turtleback Road for approximately 525 feet from Beacon Hill Road
  • Apgar Road from Green Hills Road to Old Farmers Road
  • Beacon Hill Road for approximately 1,100 feet from Route 513

The township committee will make the final approval of the bond ordinance in April. Most projects will be conducted during the summer months.

Under the same bond ordinance, the township is looking to spend $171,000 for a new front-end loader truck for the Department of Public Works, and another $23,000 for the purchase and installation of a digital sign board for the Washington Township Police Department.
