Board of Health Appointment Doesn't Need Council Vote
Kurt Bockbraber nominated to health board.

The newest appointment to the Board of Health, Kurt Bockbraber, was acknowledged during a Township Committee work session last week.
For appointments within the Board of Health, the township committee does not need to explicitly approve the candidate, which is left up to the health department.
After a brief discussion of the appointment and the steps the committee might need to take, urged by township attorney John Jansen, the committeemen indicated that there would not need to be any further action.

However, in the best interests of the township, some committeemen felt compelled to give some form of feedback.
“I (definitely) think we need to at least acknowledge it,” said Committeman Tracy Tobin. “We can’t just ignore it.”

According to the Township Clerk’s Office Manager, Teri Lyons, this endorsement was in fact made official after the three committeemen on hand discussed it.
“There doesn’t need to be any further action (on the committee’s part),” she said.
Moving forward, there does not need to be a voted resolution of approval, and Bockbraber will take office upon the final authorization from the Board of Health.
