Bridge Repairs Scheduled For Summer In Long Valley
Morris County intends to repair the bridge on Schooley's Mountain Road this summer.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — As Morris County plans to make repairs to the bridge over the South Branch on Schooley's Mountain Road during the summer, there may be more snarls of traffic and prolonged detours around the center of Long Valley.
According to township officials, there is a tentative start date of Jun. 17 for the bridge construction project, which will last through Aug. 27.
The entire parapet wall along the downstream side will be rebuilt as part of the project. In order to make repairs, the fill and pavement over the arches will be removed. A flowable fill will then be used to backfill over the arches, and the pavement surface will be repaired.
