Capogrosso, Ruggiero, Waskis Take Seats: Long Valley Board Of Ed.
Jessica DeCicco was elected Board of Education President, with Kelly DeMayo, Board Vice-President.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — One returning and two new members are serving with the Washington Township Schools Board of Education, two taking their oaths of office on Tuesday night.
At the in-person meeting, which was also live-streamed, returning Board of Education Member Carmine Capogrosso was recognized and new Members Cynthia Field Ruggiero and Rob Waskis, sworn in.
There were two nominations given for Board of Education President, with Capogrosso nominating Jessica DeCicco, who was the 2021 president. Ruggiero nominated Waskis. The board chose DeCicco, by 6-3 votes. The nomination for Waskis received three “yes” votes to seven “no” votes.

DeCicco, who was attending the meeting virtually, asked Board Secretary Liz George, who handled the oaths of office for Ruggiero and Waskis, as well as taking nominations for board president, to take nominations for board vice-president.
Kelly DeMayo was nominated by Board Member Jason Koestenblatt, with Ruggiero nominating Waskis. DeMayo won by a 6-3 vote, with Waskis receiving three yes votes and six no votes.

With DeCicco virtual, she asked George to turn the meeting over to DeMayo to lead on her behalf. DeCicco was introduced a moment later to make comments.
“I am honored and humbled to be serving another term as president,” she said, welcoming Capogrosso back to the board, as well as Ruggiero and Waskis to their new seats.
“We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and all that is in store for our young learners,” she added.
DeCicco also thanked parents for “their continued support and involvement” in their children’s education.
