Delayed Opening For Long Valley Schools On Wednesday
This winter storm system is expected to bring high winds and drop excessive rain leading to significant flooding.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — All Washington Township schools will have a two-hour delayed opening on Wednesday due to inclement weather.
"Due to the flooding expected overnight, district schools will operate on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule," the district said. All after-school activities were also canceled for Tuesday.
Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm going into effect across the state at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

AccuWeather meteorologists even warn of "dangerous to life-threatening conditions" stemming from rapid flooding, downed trees, high winds and darkness Tuesday night.
According to forecasters, three rivers in North Jersey are expected to hit the "major flood level" stage, including one in Morris County. The Passaic River at Pine Brook is anticipated to hit the major flood stage and rise to 21.4 feet by Thursday.

The Morris County Office of Emergency Management is concerned about flooding in county streams, creeks, and rivers, as well as probable wind gusts of 40–50 mph tomorrow night, which could knock down limbs and power lines.
Power outages could be widespread and long-lasting, especially in remote areas, AccuWeather added, with the most intense wind gusts expected to happen overnight.
