Dispute With A Gun Handled By Washington Township, Chester Police

Jason Jackson was charged with simple assault, police said.

LONG VALLEY, NJ - A dispute between two moving company employees ended in the arrest of Jason Jackson on Aug. 21, according to the Washington Township Police Department.

A dispute with a handgun call brought out the Washington Township and Chester Police Departments that began with a verbal confrontation between two workers, authorities said.

Police said the verbal argument turned physical between the pair but it was broken up by two others who were working on site. After the fight was over, Jason J. Jackson went to his work truck, retrieved his backpack and approached the other workers, police said.

Jackson was restrained by the others who held onto him and the weapon until patrol arrived, police said .

Jackson was placed under arrest and transported to Washington Township Police Headquarters for processing where he was charged with:

  • simple assault
  • possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose
  • unlawful possession of a weapon
  • certain persons not to possess a firearm
  • terroristic threats
  • possession of a controlled dangerous substance

Jackson was sent to the Morris County Correctional Facility.
