Easter Treats At Family-Owned Chocolate Shoppe In Long Valley
Easter is on Sunday, April 9 this year, so now is the time to stock up on Easter goodies.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Easter is quickly approaching, and the Easter Bunny has teamed up with several local businesses, including one candy shop in Long Valley.
The Chocolate Shoppe, one of the township's locally and family-owned chocolatiers and candy makers, is a community staple around the holidays and Easter is no different.
Owners Darleen and Mike Wizorek have perfected their craft, offering caramel and chocolate-dipped apples, hot chocolate bombs, homemade chocolate and peanut butter creations, and a variety of Easter-themed treats.

"We have something for everyone! All your Easter basket needs are here! White, milk and dark chocolates; solid and hollow molds; sugar-free, vegan, nut-free and gluten-free options! Filled eggs, foiled eggs and so much more," store officials said.
Every chocolate found in the store is hand molded and local chocolatiers make almost everything in the showroom and showcases.

"We don’t use much in the way of automated equipment, this allows us to maintain the old-fashion home-made, hand-dipped chocolate quality," said employee Emily Oldmixon.
The Chocolate Shoppe has been making delicious treats and been involved in the community for over 40 years.
Wizorek works as the head chocolatier and learned the trade from the best, including Bob and Sandra Bisk of Mangels in Chester and Phyllis Blake, the former owner of The Chocolate Shoppe in Washington.
Last winter, the store celebrated its fifth anniversary in Long Valley and 42 years in business, which was recognized by Mayor Matthew Murello, who posted about the occasion on social media.
"We all got into this business by chance early in life, and never seemed to be able to let it go. In the beginning, we simply wanted to continue in a business we all had a love for, but now it has grown. We are blessed to have so many customers who have either followed us from our other locations, or customers who have moved out of state yet still order every holiday to keep a piece of their childhood memories alive," Oldmixon said.
According to the Wizorek family, now is the best time to shop for their entire Easter selection. Although they have many items listed online, the full selection can be found in-store.
The Chocolate Shoppe is located at 62 East Mill Road in Long Valley and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
