Entrepreneurial Middle Schoolers To Set Up Shop At Long Valley Holiday Market
More than 150 booths run by young entrepreneurs will be offering unique holiday gift ideas.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Young entrepreneurs are getting their feet wet in the business world amid the holiday season at an upcoming market in Long Valley.
On Saturday, fifth through eighth-grade students from Washington Township Schools will be setting up more than 150 booths at the district’s annual “TREP$ Marketplace.”
From noon to 2 p.m., more than 250 young entrepreneurs will set up shop at Long Valley Middle School. The event will feature holiday music as well as some unique gift ideas available to purchase from young businessmen and women. Any entrepreneurs are invited to come at 11:45 a.m. to attend the Official Marketplace Opening.

“Entrepreneurship is an art — fueled by dedication, creativity, and courage,” a Washington Township Schools statement read. “Come support our young entrepreneurs as they learn the craft — and help us honor the spirit of innovation right here in Washington Township.”
The marketplace is organized by TREP$, short for enTREPreneur$, a “project-based learning program that teaches kids in grades 5-8 how to start their own businesses.”

“(Students) learn the essential skills in lessons at school and apply them as they build their businesses,” a TREP$ statement read. “The whole school community comes out to enjoy the TREP$ Marketplace, held right at school, where the young entrepreneurs launch their businesses together.”
