Extra Days Off For Long Valley Schools Due To Unused Snow Days

The district has three unused snow days this year, and here's when students will get the extra time off.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Thanks to a “relatively mild” winter, the Washington Township School District has leftover snow days this academic year, resulting in additional time off for students, administrators announced.

The changes to the academic calendar were approved by the district’s Board of Education on April 29, according to a statement from district officials.

Under the updated calendar, the district will be closed on Tuesday, May 27; Friday, June 13; and Monday, June 16, 2025—days that were originally scheduled as regular school days but are now being used as snow/emergency closure days.
