Fire At Peachtree Village Apartments Leaves Residents Displaced

An apartment fire required the evacuation of two apartments and nearby residents on Thursday night, Washington Township Police said.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Emergency crews evacuated residents from two burning Peachtree Village apartments on Thursday night, Washington Township Police reported.

Residents of adjacent apartments in Peachtree Village, Hackettstown, were also evacuated as crews from Washington Township fire departments arrived shortly after police did, around 8:12 p.m. last night.

Police reported no injuries but said in a news release several residents were displaced. The Long Valley First Aid Squad was at the scene.

Washington Township Police said an investigation is ongoing but "the incident does not appear to be suspicious in nature." The police department thanked all other agencies and volunteers who assisted.
