Fireworks Festival Returns Once More To Long Valley

The Fireworks Festival is planned for Saturday, Aug. 26.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Long Valley Middle School will once again be the site of the long-awaited and annual Long Valley Fireworks Festival on Saturday, Aug. 26.

The festival is hosted by the Washington Township Green Team and Long Valley Fire Company to benefit the fire company and promote eco-consciousness. The annual event was reintroduced two years ago after being postponed in 2020 due to COVID-19.

"I know it’s going to be a great night. I hope to see everyone at the Long Valley Middle School field again this year," Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello announced in a post about it on his Facebook Page.

The festival fun is set to kick off at 6 p.m. that day with live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and the Green Festival, with a $10 per car donation to attend. Just like years past, the fireworks are scheduled to begin at 8:45 p.m., as the sun sets, at the school on 51 West Mill Road.

Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs so they can relax and watch the fireworks display.

The "Green Festival" portion of the event will take place in the field behind Long Valley Middle School from 5 until 8:30 p.m. The festival will be moved to Sunday, August 27, at the same time and place in the event of rain or bad weather.

During the festival, the established policies of the Washington Township Board of Education and Long Valley Middle School will be enforced: no dogs, smoking, alcohol, glass containers, golf carts, or motorized vehicles on the grass.
