First Two 'Baby Trump' Balloons Delivered To NJ

You might see it in the air sooner rather than later: the balloon's organizers want to get it in the air before the November elections.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — The babies are here— okay, the baby balloons are here, as the first two "Baby Trump" balloons arrive in New Jersey. An additional four are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

Jim Girvan of Branchburg, who started a GoFundMe fundraiser to bring "Baby Trump" to America, announced on the fundraiser, "We’re having a baby! The first 2 of 6 Baby Trump balloons have arrived! "

Although there are no local ordinances prohibiting the balloon from flying, the FAA cracks down on anything in the sky when Trump is in his Bedminster home, nj.com reported. Because the balloon technically floats and doesn't fly, its not clear how those regulations would affect it. Girvan declined to tell the paper where the balloons came from or when they might be up in the air, but he does plan on launching them before the midterm elections this November.

The 20-foot-tall balloon — depicting President Donald Trump as an angry, diaper-wearing, cell phone-carrying baby — made its debut on July 13 when Trump visited Great Britain. A fundraiser was set up to bring the balloon to America, raising $23,748 and surpassing the original $4,500 goal.

"We were inspired by the patriotic actions of our friends in the UK. We are dedicated to pushing back against Donald Trump and his administration's assault on our democracy and the American values we hold so dear," the activists wrote on their GoFundMe page.

After the balloons make their appearances in New Jersey, the group plans to head on tour with the balloons to bring him across the county, coast-to-coast.

"Our goal is to make Baby Trump available to various locations around the country. Dozens of locations have reached out to us. Therefore, we are building a Team to manage the tour to make sure that Baby gets as much exposure as possible," according to an update on the GoFundMe page.

All of the funds collected are being used to purchase the "babies," future shipping fees while on tour, permits, security, publicity, baby sitter gear and other Baby Trump stuff.

Not everyone thinks the "Baby Trump" balloons are funny. A Manchester woman set up two GoFundMe campaigns to support her efforts to pop the balloon, both of which were removed for violating the site's terms, which specify it cannot be used "for the legal defense of alleged crimes associated with hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender or gender identity, or serious disabilities or diseases."

The goal of the campaign, she wrote, was "To show respect and support to President Trump is my Hope and Dream. To encourage POSITIVE reflection. Not all the hatred! show your support. All proceeds will go towards positively reflecting our strong belief that respect is deserved by ALL.. including our president!"

The second campaign appeared to have violated the terms of service that specify "collecting or providing funds for any purpose other than as described in a Campaign description."

The terms of service also specify GoFundme can remove any campaign "it may deem in its sole discretion to be unacceptable."
