Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic To Be Offered In Long Valley

The clinic will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A free rabies clinic will be held in Long Valley next week for those looking to get their cats or dogs vaccinated.

The clinic will be held at Washington Township's DPW building, which is located at 54 Rock Road, in Long Valley, on Jan. 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Rabies vaccines are free and open to all New Jersey residents. There's no paperwork to bring to rabies clinics – all you need to bring is your pet.

The rabies virus is found in rabid animals' saliva and is transmitted via a bite or possible contamination of an open wound. Rabies attacks the nervous system, and if not treated, it is fatal.

Rabies can be avoided if vaccination begins as soon as possible after exposure.
