Get It Shredded In Long Valley: Town To Hold Free Event For Residents

Long Valley will hold a free shredding event for residents on May 21 at the DPW office.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Washington Township will hold a free shredding event for residents on May 21 at the DPW office.

The DPW office is located at 54 Rock Road in Long Valley. The event will take place between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. This event is only open to residents of Washington Township, Morris County. All attendees will be asked for proof of residency.

Each household is allowed six boxes. Three banker-size boxes are provided for free and three additional banker-size boxes are permitted at a cost of $10.00 each.

Each box will require a sticker, which can be obtained beginning May 16 at the DPW office, 54 Rock Road, Long Valley, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

"It is not necessary to remove staples; paper clips and plastic binders must be removed. No junk mail, magazines, books, newspaper, or shredded paper. These items may be disposed of at the recycling center," said township officials.
